St. Leonard's Youth Work Update

Coming up this week...  Hold on to your horses. Unless you don't have any horses, which come to think of it, most people don't... I feel like I might be mixing up my expressions here. Anyway, here is what you need to know this week... Cell Groups  All cell groups will continue preparing for the Cell Celebration that is happening on the 5th Feb. Coming up this week...  The days are getting longer, and my intros are getting shorter. Cells are back, pathfinders is back and now lots of the youth work lot are gearing up for the weekend away. Here is what you need to know this week... Soul Survivor We had our first Soul  Survivor  planning meeting, which was pretty productive, well way more than they usually are anyway!  Don't let this photo fool you. I took it after all the important organisey type work was done  We have planned a few fundraisers and decided on who is organising them. Coming up this week...  We are now back into the swing of things. Cells have start, Friday Pathfinders is on tonight and we are gearing up for the weekend away!  Soul Survivor Every year we take a  group  of people in year 9 and above to a Christian festival called Soul Survivor .  This year we will be going again!! The dates are the 24th - 30th August, so if you want to come, put it in your diaries/phones/bits of paper/however you keep track of dates (week C for those in the know). Letters will be coming out for that trip in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for them if you are interested!    Cell Groups  Some  of the groups have got a bit out of sync with each other, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks, most groups will have caught up.  Year 7 cell will be looking at Spiritual Disciplines.  Year 8 and 9 cell will be doing a second session on Ment...

Coming up this week...  This is the first blog of 2017! Just before the first proper week of our youth work in 2017. Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas!  Cell Groups  Cell  groups start back next Monday (9th Jan) with most cells having a social, but cell groups in year 12+ looking at 'spiritual disciplines'. Thank you to everyone who helped out with setting up (and washing up!!) for the cell  social  and to everyone came along. Coming up this week...  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good week... this is the last proper blog of the year (there will be another next week, but it will mostly be pictures of the cell social). Here is what is coming up in the next week... Cell Groups  Next week  there  are no cell groups :(. But that is because we are having our joint Christmas Social!! Its an evening full of dressing up in fancy clothes, eating pizza and and playing games. What's not to love?! (unless you don't like fun, in which case you will hate it)  If you haven't handed in you need to as soon as you can. Coming up this week...  Our cell social date is set (see below) and we are watching a film and playing a murder mystery game this evening. It doesn't get much better than that. Here is what is coming up in the next week... YOUTH. WEEKEND. AWAY. The  forms for  the   weekend   away are ready and raring to go. The should be handed out at cell groups and Friday  Pathfinders next week. Make sure you bring your completed invitation and £5 with you to your next cell groups session to book yourself a space.  If you haven't had an invite, get in touch.  Other than that, all cells are on  this week, normal times and normal places.  Year 7 Cell  are looking at Mental Health.  Y ear 8 Cell  are looking at Men...

Coming up this week...  The big news this week is that our youth weekend away date has now been sorted! Add that to all the Christmas excitement and I can barely even contain myself!  Here is what is coming up in the next week... YOUTH. WEEKEND. AWAY. It is happening again and its going to be bigger than ever... (or at the very least, the same size) We have managed to sort the venue and date out  after  a bit of a delay.  The weekend is going to be 10th-12th March. Put it in your diaries and tattoo it on your favourite arm.  If you have never been to the weekend away and want to know about it, speak to someone who has been and they will tell you how amazing it is.  Cell Groups  All cells are back  this week, normal times and normal spaces.  Year 7 Cell  are looking at identity and confidence.  Y ear 8 Cell  are having a second session on Equality  Year 9 Cell ...
