26th Jan - 3rd Feb

Coming up next week...
Good morning all (or good what ever time of day it is that you are reading this). Preparation, britishness and cafés are just some of the highlights of this weeks blog. Another thing you may need to notice is that THIS MONDAY (29th Jan) is the absolute deadline before Soul Survivor tickets cost £20 more!
Cell Groups
Next week, all cell groups will continue preparing for our Cell Celebration on Sunday the 4th February.

Just a reminder:

Year 7 Cell: are preparing 2 prayer stations
Year 8 Cell: are sorting the creative response/reflection
Year 9 Cell: are preparing 2 prayer stations
Year 10 Cell: are preparing the talk
Year 11 Cell: are preparing the welcome game
Year 12 Cell: are preparing 2 prayer stations
Year 13 Cell: are preparing welcome and refreshments

Reminder: Year 10 Cell will be meeting on Thursday (1st) next week at 7.15pm - 8.30pm.

Friday Pathfinders (Younger)
Tonight (26th Jan) we are playing games in the dark. Or as we prefer to call it, 'Dark Games Night'. There will be things that glow, things that don't and a lot of running round in the dark, hoping you don't get caught! Make sure you wear something black bring the smallest torch you can find.

Next week (2nd Feb) will be 'Café Night'. If "chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, shooting some b-ball outside of the school" is your thing then this is the night for you. Although you may have to settle for playing board/computer games instead of b-ball and the church hall instead of the school. Other than that, just the same. Also, remember to bring some extra money for the delicious, delicious food and drink.

Friday Pathfinders (Older)
Tonight (26th Jan), for one night only, it's 'British Night'... expect to eat pie, drink tea and delicately nibble scones as you complain about the weather, think about the royals and quite possibly wrestle your friends to the ground all while singing the God save the Queen. Please come dress as 'Bristihly' as you can (anyone in a flat cap or bowler hat will get a bonus prize). Tally ho. Pip pip.

Next week (2nd Feb) it's 'Play your Cards Right', presented by our very own Josh Forsyth. Higher... Lower... the excitement never ends.

Sunday Pathfinders/CYFA
There is no Sunday Pathfinders or CYFA this week as it is a combined benefice service and all age worship. Remember to get to church at the earlier time of 10 (not 10.45)!

Soul Survivor
As mentioned above, this Monday (29th Jan) is the last chance to get Soul Survivor tickets before the price is increased by £20. If you are wanting to come but haven't heard anything about it/haven't got round to handing them in but don't want to pay the increased price, please get your forms and  deposit in to Olly before Monday. The link below will let you download the letters and consent forms:

Next week (26th Jan) will be 'Dark Games'. We recommend wearing dark clothes and training in the art of stealth.

Friday Pathfinders (Older)
This week (19th Jan) it's 'Dark Games' with never seen before, one of a kind, brand new game. It's called Dark Frisbee ball and its going to be great. Don't miss out...

Next week (26th Jan) is 'British night'. Come dress up as "britishly" as possible and ready to drink tea and do some queuing.

Sunday Pathfinders
This Sunday (21st Jan) is about Growing in Christ. It is being led by Olly and Graham.

CYFA
CYFA this back this week, its being led by Claire and is about Salvation by Grace.

Bishop's youth forum
Anyone who has been in cell recently should have been given a consent form about a Youth Forum we are going to that is being run by the Bishop of Oxford. It sounds like it will be a brilliant event, so if you want to come but haven't had a consent form you can download one below.

12th - 19th January

Coming up next week...
Firstly, sorry for how late in the day this blog is coming! This Friday has sort of crept away from me. Look below to see information about next weeks Cell Groups, Sunday Pathfinders, CYFA and Friday Pathfinders, lunch with the Bishop. Pretty standard really but all worth a read. Also, year 8 cell, take note of the note below...
Cell Groups
Next week we are having a bring a friend and talk tricky questions session at every cell group. The format will to invite any friends that cell members have who might be interested in talking through tricky life/faith questions in a conversational kind of a way. The format will not be that the leaders and usual members of cell have all the answers (shock horror!), more that we will talk things through together and share thoughts and musings.

Reminder: Year 10 Cell will be meeting on Thursday (18th) next week at 7.15pm - 8.30pm.

Note from year 8 cell leaders:
"Year 8 cell group will not be holding ‘invite a friend’ this coming week (Thursday 18th January), but will do it instead on the following week - Thursday 25th January.  If you want, please invite a friend for Thursday 25thJanuary.  Do let others in the group know.  Thanks."

Friday Pathfinders (Younger)
This week (12th Jan) we are having a 'Team Games' night. "What's a team games night?" I hear you cry, "come and find out" I enthusiastically respond.

Next week (19th Jan) will be 'Super Hero night'. You don't have to dress up, but you may get bonus points if you come in a particularly great costume!

Friday Pathfinders (Older)

This week (5th Jan) it's PLANNING NIGHT. Time to separate the wheat from the chaff, the good plans from the bad ones and the nights of epic proportions from the ones that budget and time restraints allow...

The theme for next week (12th Jan) is up for grabs, so make sure you come along this week and do some grabbing.

Sunday Pathfinders
This Sunday (14th Jan) Sunday Pathfinders is back. It is all about sharing the gospel and is being lead by Simon and our new and exclusive leader Ruth!

CYFA
There is no CYFA this week, but there is an amazing thanks giving... plus a bring and share lunch after the service so all in all, not bad.

Bishop's youth forum
Anyone who has been in cell this week should have been given a consent form about a Youth Forum we are going to that is being run by the Bishop of Oxford. It sounds like it will be a brilliant event, so if you want to come but haven't had a consent form you can download one below.

5th - 12th January

Coming up next week...
Well, its the first blog of 2018. I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas and a great New Year.  We have got some exciting things coming up for 2018, so make sure you keep up-to-date with everything that is going on. Here is what is coming up...
Cell Groups
Next week all cell groups are starting back with a social. As part of the social we will be thinking about some tricky questions to do with life, faith, the universe and everything. So get your best thinking hat on and come prepared with questions you've always wanted to talk about but never got round to discussing with anyone.

I have chosen these photos both for their beauty and demonstrate thinking faces

Reminder: Year 10 Cell will be meeting on Wednesday (10th) next week at 8.15pm - 9.30pm.

Friday Pathfinders (Younger and Older)
This week (5th Jan) there is NO Friday Pathfinders (older or younger). That is because your devoted team of leaders are having a planning meeting to come up with all fun we will be having this term.

Next week will be entirely based on what comes out of our brains this week, so if you are the praying kind, be praying for us (its in your own interests).

Some shots of what could realistically be described as the best walk to Oxford any youth group has done in the history of ever

Sunday Pathfinders and CYFA
This Sunday (7th Jan) it is an All Age Worship (with balloons) at Church so there is NO Sunday Pathfinders NOR CYFA.

Youth Weekend Away and Soul Survivor
The deadlines for getting in forms and payments for both Soul Survivor and the Weekend Away have now passed.  However, I think there might be some people out there who want to come but haven't given in their forms. If that is you, get them in!!

There was a bit confusion about the deadline for SS forms and deposit (sorry about that). Basically, the cost of Soul Survivor tickets goes up on the 31st January, if we haven't booked your place by then, it will cost an extra £20. Long story short, if you want to come, please can you get your forms and deposit in in the next week or so. Links below for the forms:
