St. Leonard's Youth Work Update

Coming up next week...  Well we did it. One week completed in isolation, how is everyone? I have never been more productive. I hope people are adapting well and have enjoyed the online material, if you have any ideas on what we can do, please do get in touch. We are up for trying new methods. Finally, on behalf of all our Youthwork, we would like to extend our thanks to the all the key workers, teachers, NHS staff and our politicians all working exceptionally hard to keep us safe and we pray that they can feel God's presence throughout all their work! Cell Groups Zoom worked really well this week with some cells starting proper cell plans, whilst others had a social. This next week, all the cell groups will be completing another encountering God cell plan.  Each call can last up to 40 minutes, so during that time we will discuss a bible passage or some questions, pray together and maybe even play a few games. Coming up next week...  Hello again, I have never seen so many blogs in one week, hopefully you feel kept up to date with all that's going on! Everything is still pretty fluid regarding our Youthwork and we will be trialing a variety of techniques and resources to minister to you guys! Before we go on, I would like to point you in the direction of  Philippians  4: 6-7 " Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Coming up next week...  Hello everyone, unfortunately this is another short blog from the St. Leonard's youth team. This will probably not come as a surprise to many but because of the national developments regarding Covid-19 things will be changing throughout our youth work provision... Cell Groups Until further notice, no cell groups will be meeting. However, we are looking at ways to use the time that we would be at cell productively. Either by meeting up together 'virtually' using Youtube or WhatsApp, or doing devotions or challenges at a set time and then updating each other on how they went. We will be looking into the best way to do this and will get back to you soon  Friday Pathfinders  Will be canceled until further notice... however both Steven and I will be available to chat or give you creative one player game ideas using the contact details below!! Genuinely do get in touch on a Friday night if you are bored... we probably will be too.  Sunday

Coming up next week...  Hello everyone and welcome back to the St Leonards youth blog, the only place to find out exactly what is going on in the next week. Looking a little bit further into the future, our preparations are underway for the weekend away, and a variety of emails will be coming out for those involved. But back to this week, please read on to find out more... Cell Groups This week, year 7-9 will be looking at how to encounter God at school whilst from year 10 upwards the cells will be looking at encountering God at church.  Year 7 cell - Monday 7:15 - 8:30 Year 8 cell - Tuesday 5:30 - 6:45 Year 9 cell - Thursday 7:30 - 8:45 Year 10 cell - Thursday 7:30 - 9:00 Year 11 cell - Monday 5:30 - 7:00 Year 12 cell - Friday 5:00 - 6:25  Year 13 cell - Wednesday 6:30 - 8:00 Younger Friday Pathfinders  This Friday, 6th March, you guys are doing animal night. I wont be there, but Peter is ready to judge who has the best cow moo, so get practicing. 

As most of you probably know, six young people (and one old person called Olly) from St Leonard's went on a trip to Moldova between the 14th and the 22nd of February. Now that we've been back a while, I've finally made a blog post to let you know what we got up to on our mission trip...  Friday (Day 0) We arrived at the Reign head office in Bicester at 7pm for our first night of the trip. We spent the evening getting acclimatised with the group and setting the tone for the coming week. We had a briefing from the Reign team on what to expect and an explanation of the code of conduct that needed to adhere to while away. The ‘rules’ for the trip spelt out the word ‘PROUD’ with P standing for punctual (we did our best on that one!). We then had some games all together, had a quiet time and then settled down for our last sleep before Moldova. The boys slept on the floor of what used to be a motor bike garage! Emergency blog update... A blog on a Monday, what!? Well this is just an update for Friday Pathfinders for 6th March. We had initially thought that it would be sleepover night and taskmaster night for Younger and Older pathfinders respectively. But due to my absence this week, we are changing the term plan.  Younger Pathfinders will remain at the same time as usual 6:30 - 7:45 and you will be doing Animal Night!  Older Pathfinders, its time to return to the good old days with some classic pathfinder games and this will run 8:00 - 9:30  Thank you, see you all throughout the week!
