This week in St. Leonards Youth......

Coming up this week...

This month seems to be going super quickly! I can't believe we are nearly at the end of it. Here is what is happening this week...

This week is our first week of looking at 'Big Questions' and we will be exploring the topic of science and religion. Are they the same thing? Are they anti each other? Is there any point talking about any of this? All that and more to look forward to at cell. We looked at new year last week, so this week we will also be putting together time capsules with the beautiful selfies we took last week. Hopefully then next year we will be able to open them and see how young we all looked and be embarrassed  by our poses.
Exhibit A
Next week the cell leaders are having a training session so normal cell sessions will be cancelled.

Friday Pathfinders...
This week the younger pathfinders will be taking part in "I'm a Pathfinder Get Me Out Of Here!" so come in clothes you are prepared to get dirty!

For Older Friday Pathfinders this week we will be doing our very own version of Never Mind the Buzzcocks so you should all brush up on your music knowledge!

At Older Pathfinders people are expected to climb round a table without touching the floor (I'm not quite sure why!)

CYFA & Sunday Pathfinders
Once again there is no Sunday Pathfinders or CYFA this week :( but the good news is that we are having a speaker in Church from Adventure Plus, A Christian Charity which runs Outdoor activities for young people so please come along!

You may recognise some of these people on an Adventure Plus camp!

Soul Survivor
The price for Soul Survivor goes up at the end of the month so if you want to come you absolutely need to get your form in this week! otherwise we will have to charge you more for a place. We are also having our first fundraising meeting next Tuesday so please come with lots of ideas!

Youth Weekend Away
We literally now have only one more place to squeezed someone in at the weekend away. So if you want to come along you really need to get your forms into Olly or Beth. The first person to hand in the forms will get the place and everyone else will go on a waiting list. The waiting list people will get first dibs if someone else pulls out or if we can find a way to possibly get more people in!

This week in St. Leonards Youth.....

Coming up this week...

Apologies for the lateness of this post. After a more relaxed week last week St. Leonard's Youth work is now back into the full swing of things and Monday proved to be a busy old day!

So, here is what is coming up this week...

This week all the cell groups are back up and running in at their usual times and in their usual places. This week in cells we will be taking part in a Spanish new years tradition involving grapes. We will also be looking new starts and how New Years celebrations can be linked to faith and personal development.

If you have never been to a cell group before, then now might be a good time to check one out and see what you think of them. If you interested in finding out more, feel free to get in touch.

Friday Pathfinders...
Friday Pathfinders is back this week, 6.30pm - 7.45pm for Younger Pathfinders and 8.00pm - 9.30pm for the Older Pathfinders.

At Younger we will be playing Dark Games like light house and mummies, so come dressed in dark clothes (for hiding purposes).

At Older we will be having a classic 'Circle Games' night playing old favourites like Tray Bash, Psychiatrist and Eligible Bachelor.
These aren't really linked to circle time, but I thought some some of you might enjoy this blast from the past.

CYFA & Sunday Pathfinders
It is 'THE GATHERING' at church this week (starting at 9.30), which means that everyone is staying in church so there is no CYFA or Sunday Pathfinders. The Gathering services at church are always really good though so make sure you still come along :-)

This morning Olly did an assembly to Year 8 at Bartholomew on 'Manners'. He will be going in again to do an assembly on the same topic for Year 7s.

Most people in Cell Groups should have been given a little black flyer about mentoring. If you are interested in having a mentor or you have child who might be, please could you let us know by the end of this week...

Happy New Year!! :-)

That went quickly...

Well, that is the school holidays over and done with. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and an exciting New Year. This isn't a normal update blog, as there isn't too much happening this week, but I wanted to put out a blog, just to keep you all in the loop.

As is our normal procedure there are no groups meeting this week because there has not been a full week back at school. We will be using this time to have our leaders meetings and make sure that we are ready and raring to go with the next term.

Olly and Beth are also back in the office so if you want to come in and say hi, or want to know anything else about the youth work then please feel free to get in touch.

Last terms news letter...
I have also sent out an update news letter for last term. If you want to you can read it here:

January news letter

If you follow that link, in the top left hand corner there is also a button to subscribe to the termly news letter, if you want to receive them regularly.

Apparently tomorrow is the day you are suppose to take down your Christmas tree :-(. This is what happened when my wife and I took down ours:
