21st - 28th September

Coming up next week...
It's time to wave bye bye to the summer weather, put the shorts away and start enjoying a 'bracing' British Autumn time. The sun is shinning and it's Friday afternoon, what's not to like? Make sure you don't miss out on anything that is happening, and if you need any more information please feel free to get in touch. And if you haven't filled out a consent form, the link is below, do it, do it now!

Cell Groups
Cell groups will be at their agreed times and places, as normal. 2 of our cell's will be having a special guest come to speak at them. Have a look below to find out which ones:

Year 7 Cell: is the first of our cells to be having a special guest speaker come all the way from Kolkata to talk to us about a charity called JKPS. We are back at the Shaw's this week as everything has been decontaminated.
Year 8 Cell: will be having a session on self worth. Remember that the time has changed to 7.00pm - 8.15pm and the day has changed to Monday! Same location though...
Year 9 Cell: will be having a session on self worth.
Year 10 Cell: is the second cell to be having our special guest come and talk to them. As well as having someone from form India come and talk to us, we will also have a special guest visitor who is about to go to India too.
Year 11 Cell: will be having a session called Bullying - how to cope and how not to be one. Remember that we are meeting on Wednesday at 7.45pm next week (26th Sept)
Year 12 Cell: will be having a session called Bullying - how to cope and how not to be one.
Year 13 Cell: will be having a session called Bullying - how to cope and how not to be one.

Younger Friday Pathfinders
Tonight (21st).... for one time only (this term)... we are bringing back some classic games from Pathfinders past, as well as eating some retro styled refreshments. Its going to be old school, but skhool with a K because we're cool.

Next week (28th) is a film night. You bring some films, we'll bring the popcorn (and the projector and also some films in case the films you bring are a bit rubbish or too long).

Older Friday Pathfinders
Because I found your suggestions for sessions very confusing, I have decided that this week... as in tonight (21st).... its challenge night! Come prepared to rise to the challenge and show us what you are made of. Also come prepared to give more ideas on stuff you want to do! Film night and takeaway gets my vote!

Next week (28th) will be our first ever alternative Disney night. It will be a lot like Disney night only you make the songs and recreate your favourite scenes from our favourite movie empire.

Sunday Pathfinders
This Sunday (23rd September) we will be carrying on with our theme and looking at what it means to live as Children of Light. Ruth and Graham will be leading.

CYFA
There is no CYFA this week. However I am very keen to see the dramatic re-tellings of Mark 1 that you did last week. Does anyone have any video evidence?

14th - 21st September

Coming up next week...
Firstly, let me apologise for the tardiness of this blog. I'm writing this one having recovered from being ill. I won't bore you with the details but that's what caused the delay. I'll have to ask your forgiveness for there being more typos than usual as well. Still not quite 100%. However, still keen that people should know what is happening in the next week, so here we go...

Consent forms

Cell groups are now back in the swing and will be back again next week. Year 7-9 cell groups will be reviewing the year last year and trying to come up with some ideas of what they would like to do next. Year 10-13 cell groups will be having a session on self worth.

Year 7 Cell: will be meeting on Monday 10th, 7.30pm - 8.45pm at Caroline's house (due to the Shaw's being a sick house).
Year 8 Cell: will be meeting on Tuesday 11th, 5.30pm - 6.45pm at the Ferrier's house (for the last time until the day/time gets changed).
Year 9 Cell: will be meeting on Thursday 13th, 7.30 - 8.45pm at the Ferrier's house.
Year 10 Cell: will be meeting on Monday 10th, 5.30pm - 7.00pm at Caroline's house.

Year 12 Cell: will be meeting on Wednesday 12th, 4.00pm - 5.15pm at the McKemey's house (for the last time before we change the day/time).
Year 13 Cell: will be meeting on Friday 14th, 3.15pm - 4.30pm at the Mark's house (we really will this time, I promise not to be ill!).

Foot Jenga anyone?

Younger Friday Pathfinders
Yesterday (14th Sep) was left in very capable hands and I am reliably informed they did some ice breaker games. I look forward to hearing all about it.

Next week (21st) is to be decided, so watch this space for next week...

Older Friday Pathfinders

Again a crack team jumped in yesterday to fill the void and I'm sure every had a better time than usual because of it. The group hopefully got to know each other much better and I look forward to seeing the ideas that came out of the planning session.

Next week (21st) will be entirely based on the ideas that came out yesterday so I look forward to seeing what came out and sorting it into some sort of plan for the term.

Sunday Pathfinders
Tomorrow (16th September) we will be having a session looking at what it means to live a life of love. Graham and Olly will be leading.

CYFA
CYFA is back tomorrow for our first session of this academic year. It is being lead by Claire and Nick and we will be starting our program of reading through the gospel of Mark.

7th - 14th September

Coming up next week...
Welome to the first blog post of this academic year. Below you should find lots of information to help you to know what is happening and when. If you need any more information or are confused by anything below, then just get in touch using the contact details below. Happy reading...

Consent forms
Given that we are the youth arm of our church we thought we'd go all 21st Century, so our consent forms are now available to fill out online! This should mean no more lost bits of paper stuffed in bags, no more being pestered by leaders to finally bring that form back and plenty of filling out of the form from parents as a welcome distraction from something even more boring like doing house work.

We need one of these forms filled in per young person, per group. You/your parents should have received an email inviting you to fill out this form already. If you haven't it means we don't have a valid email address for you, so please could you click the link below and fill out the consent form as soon as possible.

Soul Survivor
Those of us who went to Soul Survivor had an amazing time. If you want to know more, then speak to someone who went!

Next year is actually the last ever year Soul Survivor is running their summer camps so if you have always wanted to come but haven't got round to it yet then next year is the time.

Details, letters and consent forms will be coming out soon so watch this space...

Cell Groups
All cell groups are starting back next week (w/c 10th September). They will be having a social and a catch up after the summer and at least for this first week they will be meeting at the same time and day as they did before the summer break:

Year 7 Cell: will be meeting on Monday 10th, 7.30pm - 8.45pm at the Shaw's house.
Year 8 Cell: will be meeting on Tuesday 11th, 5.30pm - 6.45pm at the Ferrier's house (come ready to talk about changing the time/day that you meet).
Year 9 Cell: will be meeting on Thursday 13th, 7.30 - 8.45pm at the Ferrier's house.
Year 10 Cell: will be meeting on Monday 10th, 5.30pm - 7.00pm at Caroline's house.
Year 11 Cell: will be meeting on Thursday 13th, 7.15pm - 8.30pm at Miriam's house (that is an inside joke, for clarity, we are at the Harrington's, like normal).
Year 12 Cell: will be meeting on Wednesday 12th, 4.00pm - 5.15pm at the McKemey's house (you will be talking about changing the time and day this week, so come ready for that).
Year 13 Cell: will be meeting on Friday 14th, 3.15pm - 4.30pm at the Mark's house.

Goodbye old year 13 cell, we love you and will miss you, make sure you visit lots...
P.S. dont get confused... all cells have moved up a year so what was year 11 cell is now year 12!

Older and Younger Friday Pathfinders
Today (7th September) your loyal and loving leaders are meeting up to come up with even more brilliant ideas of what we can do next term!

Next week (14th) it all starts back again so hopefully see you there!

Sunday Pathfinders
After a big break for the Summer, Sunday Pathfinders is back this Sunday (9th)! We will be welcoming in the newbies and thinking together what being a Sunday Pathfinder is really all about!
