St. Leonard's Youth Work Update

Coming up this week...  This week Hannah Gundry is writing the blog as she is here on work experience so obviously this week is going to be better than if Beth or Ollie were planning!!!!!! Cell Celebration The Cell Celebration is on the 10th May in the Church at 6. The theme this term is 'Listening to God' and the cell groups will be planning for this next week. Friday Pathfinders Younger Pathfinders are going to be playing lots of games based on team building and there are prizes for the team winners so come with your competitive hats on! At Older Pathfinders we are going to be doing a girls vs. boys evening. Sunday Pathfinders Sunday Pathfinders will be on this week led by Jennifer and Beth and the theme is 'The Peace of God'. CYFA This week CYFA will be at the Page's house at 9 for breakfast. The theme is 'Prayer'.

Coming up this week...  Sorry for the lack of updates recently we have very busy in the office! Olly has now started his new job :( which means you will now have to cope with me (Beth) writing the blogs. They may not be as interesting but will hopefully have better spelling! All groups are starting back this week after the Easter break... Cell groups There have been a few changes within the cell group leadership team and I am very happy to welcome Aidan and Ben as new young leaders. This term we will be looking at plans for the future and living as a Christian. Friday Pathfinders Pathfinders is back on this week at Younger Pathfinders we are going to be doing our very own Come Dine with Me. So come with empty stomachs and all of your cooking skills!  At Older Pathfinders we are going to be playing some classic Pathfinders games. Coming up this week...  We are BACK baby!! I hope you have all had a lovely half term. The half term break is now over and St. Leonard's youth is back and operational. Here is what is coming up this week... Cell... All Cell Groups are starting back this week. For most Cell Groups, this first session will be a social but some groups will be getting stuck in with some deeper stuff straight away.  Friday Pathfinders... Before half term we had two very exciting session with lights, lazers and smoke! Younger Pathfinders was Never Mind the Buzzcocks Night which, if you have never watched the TV show, is a fast paced music based quiz:  This week at Youngers we will be doing a Hollywood night, and its going to be fabulous darling!   For Older Pathfinders last week we went for a straight up DISCO, raving to music of varying quality from different people phones:  This week, for Older Pathfinders , we will...

Coming up this week...  Apologies  that there was no update blog for the past 2 weeks. All in all it has been an amazing 2 weeks. If you don't know what has been happing feel free to get in touch for a chat. Here is what is happening this week... Cell... Last Sunday (8th) was our termly Cell Celebration. Normally Cell Groups don't meet after Cell Celebrations, but this week we are breaking that norm and having 1 more cell session before half term.   The theme for this terms Cell Celebration was 'Telling the World' and it was amazing to see all the cell groups getting together and worshipping God. The Vine did a brilliant job of leading worship, Year 10 cell gave a great talk and all the other cells made some fantastic prayer stations.     Friday Pathfinders... Over the last 2 weeks  at Younger Pathfinders  we have had Takeshi's Castle night and a Scrap Heap Challenge night which have both been really fun...

Coming up this week...  This month seems to be going super quickly! I can't believe we are nearly at the end of it. Here is what is happening this week... Cell... This week is our first week of looking at 'Big Questions' and we will be exploring the topic of science and religion. Are they the same thing? Are they anti each other? Is there any point talking about any of this? All that and more to look forward to at cell. We looked at new year last week, so this week we will also be putting together time capsules with the beautiful selfies we took last week. Hopefully then next year we will be able to open them and see how young we all looked and be embarrassed   by our poses.  Exhibit A Next week the cell leaders are having a training session so normal cell sessions will be cancelled. Coming up this week...  Apologies for the lateness of this post. After a more relaxed week last week St. Leonard's Youth work is now back into the full swing of things and Monday proved to be a busy old day!  So, here is what is coming up this week... Cell... This week all the cell groups are back up and running in at their usual times and in their usual places. This week in cells we will be taking part in a Spanish new years tradition involving grapes. We will also be looking new starts and how New Years celebrations can be linked to faith and personal development.  If you have never been to a cell group before, then now might be a good time to check one out and see what you think of them. That went quickly...  Well, that is the school holidays over and done with. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and an exciting New Year. This isn't a normal update blog, as there isn't too much happening this week, but I wanted to put out a blog, just to keep you all in the loop. Groups... As is our normal procedure there are no groups meeting this week because there has not been a full week back at school.
