8th June

Coming up next week...
Hello. This week's blog starts on a serious tone. Since the death of George Floyd there has been an outpouring of emotion not just in the USA but all over the world. Racism is an incredibly serious issue, which has been prevalent in society for far too long. As a white man, living in a predominantly white community, it has often been easy to overlook the unconscious nature of discrimination and it has only really been this year that I have begun to understand this. Although you might not be on the protest march, this doesn't mean you can't do anything. As a christian, I believe in a God who is for all. He doesn't discriminate. He loves everybody equally, and has created each person for a reason and in his own image. I also believe in a God who has the power to change hearts and change the world, and through prayer this CAN happen, and so as well as supporting the anti-racism movement, I am committing to praying to see an end to racial social injustice. Cell Groups
Different groups will be up to different points through the devotional plans but we are continuing with that this week. Please let us know how you have found the devotionals, it is great to have feedback both good and bad on how you are finding things, so that we can make it even better!

Friday Pathfinders
Will be canceled until further notice... however both Olly and I will be available to chat or give you creative one player game ideas using the contact details below!! Genuinely do get in touch on a Friday night if you are bored... we probably will be too.

CYFA
CYFA is back this week (14th June). We will be meeting on RAVE and listening to a Mike Pillavachi talk together and then discussing it. You will need to download RAVE on your phones to take part, if there are any issues please let us know. See you all at 11:30!

Sunday
Alongside the Sunday service, Olly and I have created a series of talking point videos. These are just a few simple questions to discuss in your homes, with your friends or just to think about on your own. They are based around the topic of the Sunday service and are just aimed to get you thinking that little bit more. We hope you enjoy them!

New Challenges
The bible in lockdown challenge is still going on! We have moved into Joshua and Acts, and I think now is the most important time of challenge. As society opens up, and there is more to do, it would be easy to stop reading the bible as much, but let's keep going.

If you would like to be involved and you already aren't, either get in touch with Olly and I or follow @stleonardslockdown on instagram.
