8th October 2020

Hello! Thanks for joining us for this week's blog. We hope you're all keeping well. We'd love to be praying more specifically for you, so please let us know if you have any requests.

As usual, here's your update for the week:

Cell groups continue with sessions on 'Loneliness'. Unfortunately the experience of being lonely seems to be a pretty common one. We, therefore, want to spend some time thinking about what the Bible says on loneliness, as well as how to take care of ourselves and others when experiencing being alone.

We would love to get any young people who aren't already involved, into a cell group. So if you or someone you know is between school years 7 and 13 and are interested in cell, please get in contact so we can add them to a group! Contact details are at the bottom.

As ever, we're continuing to work on getting other groups up and running - so keep checking here or our Instagram page for the latest updates.

Last week I mentioned we would be having a Disc Golf event on Friday 23rd October, but unfortunately we have had to cancel 😞 we know there were lots of people interested so we're trying to figure out a replacement event. Keep your eyes peeled for more...

This is also a reminder for our Zoom session on Monday 19th October. We will be joining with the youth group from Cogges Church, Witney to connect and have fun together. For those who want to come, there are some challenges to be set ...i.e. young people get to set a 'React To' challenge for the leaders! If you're interested there's still time!

Fill out this form: Cogges & St Leonard's React To Zoom

The details:

When? Monday 19th October, 6.30-7.30pm

Where? On Zoom - details will be sent to you nearer the time

How? We'll meet on Zoom, have some time altogether, have some time in break out groups and have a lot of fun

Why? It's a great opportunity to connect with some other young people, set a fun challenge for your leaders and do something a bit different

N O T E : This Zoom session will be instead of cell groups that week (week commencing 19th October, just before half term)

As a team, we feel passionately about supporting our young people to share their faith with their friends, peers and anybody else they come into (socially distanced) contact with! We've been challenged in our devotional this week to think about what it takes to share with friends and how we can best be a support.

1 Peter 3:15 really stuck with me as the reasoning behind why we should be open and prepared to share. It also highlights what hope we have and that makes me eager to share that with others.

So this week: do you share what you believe with those around you? Do you have any experiences of this (whether good or bad!) that you'd like to tell us about? Please get in touch if you do.

We hope you are blessed in your sharing and in your communities.

Thanks so much for catching up with us this week!
