Hello! Welcome to this week's blog. Hopefully you're settling into some kind of routine; we know we're grateful that we've been able to continue with much of the youth work. 

As usual, here's your update for the week:

I N   T H E   N E X T   W E E K 

Cell groups continue with sessions on 'Encouragement'. It's always good to think about how we can be encouraging one another and what the Bible has to say on the matter. We hope this will be a week to become more effective encouragers, pray together and have some fun!

We can still take orders for the St Leonard's Youth exclusive rain poncho, if any cell group members are interested. Please get in touch as soon as possible (details at the bottom) to let us know your preference (blue, pink or black) if you haven't done so already. 

As a reminder: they will be printed with the Youth logo and cost £5. We've found it's always a fun way to unite the group as well as keeping us dry from the (inevitable) rain we encounter during cell groups.

As ever, we're continuing to work on getting other groups up and running - so keep checking here or our Instagram page for the latest updates.

O T H E R   T H I N G S

On Monday 19th October, we will be joining with the youth group from Cogges Church, Witney for a Zoom session. We appreciate Zoom events can be difficult (and who hasn't felt a little Zoom-ed out over lockdown?!), but it is an amazing opportunity to connect and have fun together. 

For those who attend this event, there are some challenges to be set ...i.e. young people get to set a 'React To' challenge for the leaders! If you are interested, please fill out this form, which includes more details on the challenge:

The details:

When? Monday 19th October, 6.30-7.30pm

Where? On Zoom - details will be sent to you nearer the time

How? We'll meet on Zoom, have some time altogether, have some time in break out groups and have a lot of fun

Why? It's a great opportunity to connect with some other young people, set a fun challenge for your leaders and do something a bit different 

N O T E : This Zoom session will be instead of cell groups that week (week commencing 19th October, just before half term)

In other exciting news, we have an opportunity for young people to play Disc Golf together on Friday 23rd October (what a week of fun that will be!). More details will follow next week, but keep your eyes peeled...

L A S T   B U T   N O T   L E A S T

We were reminded of Psalm 57 in our staff meeting this morning. It's such an uplifting reminder of how our hearts must remain steadfast, and just how big God's love is, no matter the circumstances.

Coming up next week...  After a bit of a false start last week with the bank holiday, we are now back with a bang. There is a fair amount happening in the next few days, but mostly notice that even though there is a bank holiday... that isn't stopping us this time!!!  Cell Groups Our cell celebration is coming up on the 19th of May, so most (but not all!!)  cells will be preparing for that. Wow, what a summer! Soul Survivor was, as it always is, amazing this year. If you were at St. Leonard's on the 7th September you will have heard all about it, but for those of you who weren't: We took 30 young people and 4 leaders with us this year and were joined by a group from Leicester. So all told we had group of 45. Which looked pretty good when we were all in fancy dress. But more than that, it was amazing to see how much God moved people along in their faith, simply because they set aside some time to focus on Him. What was also amazing was that a pretty incredible new brother of mine gave his life to God that week; it is has been brilliant to see what God has been doing in him since. Coming up next week...  You might notice something different about the blog this week, it may be less funny but there will be fewer spelling and grammatical errors as it has been written by somebody who knows how to write. That's right people........Dobbo has arrived! (Don't all cheer at once) Cell Groups  Cell groups are returning this week after a refreshing half term. Years 7, 8, 9, 10,11 and 13 will be doing a session on drugs and alcohol. Year 12 will be doing a brief recap on their alcohol session and then focussing on drugs.   Friday Pathfinders (younger) This week (2nd June) there is no pathfinders due to half term. BOOOOOOOOOO! Next week (9th June) it is obstacle course night. Be prepared to jump, spin and run round our unique obstacle course.
