10th December 2020

Hello! Thanks for joining us for this week's blog. Wow, what a week it has been - I hope you've managed to find some peace amongst it all. We've been feeling a little swamped in the office but we're getting back into the swing of things now and beginning to feel more Christmassy!

As usual, here's your update for the week:

Unfortunately we have to cancel our plans for next week 😭 as a team we've considered the guidelines, revised our plan, sought guidance and prayed - and the conclusion we've come to that it's safest for everybody if we reschedule the cell celebrations that we had originally hoped to host.

We are also in a position where the safest thing to do is go back online with cell groups. So, although they will be happening, we'll be back on Zoom again. We would love to see as many young people as possible, especially as next week are the last cell groups before Christmas. We also want to say a big THANK YOU for persevering through these ever-changing times.

Never fear, we are definitely not cancelling the celebration forever; if all goes to plan, we will be putting something on in January!

Hopefully you saw us in the St Leonard's church service on Sunday. I am yet to go for another run... it took a good three days for my legs to feel even slightly normal again! But it was a great experience to think more about endurance, and we hope you found it helpful too.

For those of you interested in the competition, we said "keep going!" ten times. Archie was our winner 🎉 and will be receiving a prize very soon.

Here's another reminder of everything that's happening over Christmas at St Leonard's:

Be sure to book on soon for those with QR codes as it's important to get an idea of numbers to ensure everybody is kept safe. We would love to see you there!

As our plans change and we adjust to everything that's happening at the moment, it's been easy to feel discouraged. As a team we've felt sad and disappointed about having to cancel plans and not being able to effectively 'do' youth work.

Personally, I've been waiting on a few things at the moment too. It's so easy to get really low and feel stuck whilst doing so. I think God is challenging me on this, but verses like 1 Corinthians 1:9 remind me of the truth in it all: God's calling me to journey with him and he remains faithful throughout.
